Run your Safer Food, Better Business pack on your phone
Safer Food, Better Business is the Food Standards Agency food safety management pack most small UK caterers work to. This app holds all of it - the daily diary, the safe method sheets, the temperature records, the allergen chart and the staff training records - and prints them onto the FSA's own forms wherever the FSA publishes one.
The food-safety guidance built into the app is developed and assured through our Primary Authority partnership with Buckinghamshire and Surrey Trading Standards, so you and your local inspector are working from the same trusted source. That is assured advice about this app; it is not a statement about any individual business's compliance.
What the app covers
- The daily diary. Opening and closing checks, plus any extra checks you define, signed with the name of whoever made the entry.
- Temperature records. SC2 fridge and freezer, SC3 cooking, cooling and reheating, SC4 hot holding.
- All 31 safe method sheets, across cross-contamination, cleaning, chilling, cooking and management.
- The allergen chart, every dish against all 14 allergens, printable on the FSA's landscape template.
- Staff training records, one per person, covering the 30 training points the pack asks for.
- The cleaning schedule, incident log, suppliers and contacts.
- The EHO pack. Every record for a date range, as one PDF.
More than one site, and your team
Invite staff so entries carry their own names, and run more than one establishment from the same account, switching between them.
Your own entry on the register
Councils register food businesses locally, and some - often those assessed as low risk - are not published on the FSA's national register. If yours is published, find it by name or address and see it beside the rest of your local authority. If it is not, the whole pack still runs here; what you do not get is a public listing, because search, nearby and the map only ever show FSA data. Either way, the Data Explorer shows how ratings move across the register.
It is free
All of it, on iOS, Android and the web. There is no paid tier holding any part of the pack back, and no ads.
